Maths At Home

Maths at Home

Please take every opportunity to help your child help your child practise their math skills in everyday situations, for example when you are shopping or talking about time.

Please help you child to learn and practise their times tables  and associated division facts as this will greatly improve their maths skills. This includes knowing them out of order and related facts, eg. If 3x4=12, then 30 x 4 = 120 and 120 ÷ 4 =30.

Our Maths Basic Skills Outline and Calculation policy may provide further assistance in you supporting your child with other aspects of mathematics at home.

Our Standards for Mathematics outline end-of-year expectations for each year group.

When it comes to times tables, speed AND accuracy  are important – the more facts your child remembers, the easier it is for them to do harder calculations. Times Table Rock Stars is a fun and challenging programme designed to help students master the times tables!
