Eliot Bank School Choir is open to Year 4, 5 and 6 students. We meet every Tuesday after school for a rehearsal during which we warm up, learn about music and sing some fantastic songs. We have been learning to sing in harmony and we are really getting to grips with it.
Every term we perform for the school and the wider community at events such as Lewisham Live in Catford Broadway Theatre, The Turning of the Year at Blackheath Halls and we even made a lot of residents at Castlebar Care Home very happy when we performed Christmas songs for them. Keep an eye out for our next performance date.
The choir's singing has contributed to the school's Sing Up Award which recognises the wide range of opportunities for singing at Eliot Bank, in class, as a whole school and beyond the school in concerts.

Turning on the Lights at Downing Street
On Thursday the 8th of December, a small group from our choir were lucky enough to be chosen to sing outside 10 Downing Street. As the lights on the Christmas tree were turned on, the children of Eliot Bank impressed everyone with their carol singing. The children were given a tour of the state rooms and even sat in the Prime Minister’s chair. They sang and behaved so well that they were invited back to Downing Street for the annual children’s Christmas party, the following Monday.
Turning of the Year Concert - Blackheath Concert Halls
Year 5 and 6 members of the choir performed at the Turning of the Year concert in Blackheath Halls.
Lots of festive songs were sung by nearly 300 children, accompanied by the Lewisham Music Service Live band and conducted by Lewisham's Singing Leader, Clare Caddick.
It was a fantastic experience for all involved. Eliot Bank were the last school to perform and they brought the house down. All the staff who attended were very proud.
