EBSA News – Christmas Fair

A huge thank you to EBSA for organising a fantastic Christmas Fair this year – our best yet! Last Friday, the school was full to bursting with family and friends and former students. A huge team of parent volunteers helped at the countless stalls throughout the hall, balcony and gym. We’re so grateful for all your support.

The total raised from the fair was £2976.63 and an additional £1,033.85 was raised through Christmas cards orders. This makes the Christmas fundraising total a whopping £4,010.48!

Since January 2017, money raised by EBSA has been spent on two table tennis tables, activity benches, water tables and mud kitchens for early years, a Junk Orchestra performance, football goals, new non-fiction books, home readers and dictionaries for across the school. Plans for further spending include outdoor musical instruments for the playgrounds, Curriculum Week 2018 and phase budgets. We are already in discussions with EBSA about what to fundraise for in 2018.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Caroline Waters, Jo Trim and Camilla Sheldon, who step down from their role as co-Chairs. They have worked tirelessly with the EBSA team to raise incredible sums of money for the school over the last few years. Events such as Thrift Theatre’s return on World Book Day will long live in the memories of our children and projects like the pirate boat in the KS1 playground will no doubt create hours of enjoyment for many a young sea matey. Thank you, all, on behalf of the children, parents, school staff and governors.

From January, Katie Knowles takes over as Chair of EBSA and Damaris Hammerli will continue as treasurer. We look forward to working with Katie and the EBSA team in the New Year. Those interested in being involved in EBSA are welcome to attend an AGM held in the gym at 9am on 12 January 2018.
